# Live Barometer vs Barometer for Watch

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Live Barometer at none against Barometer for Watch's 4. Live Barometer also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 26.0). Barometer for Watch's advantage is ratings volume (47 vs 3) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Barometer for Watch sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Live Barometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Barometer for Watch holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Barometer for Watch has 47 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Live Barometer's written reviews are positive against 64% of Barometer for Watch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Live Barometer ships an update fortnightly, Barometer for Watch every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
