# Live Barometer vs Barometer

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Live Barometer at none against Barometer's 1. Live Barometer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (67% vs 35%). Barometer's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (70 vs 3). On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Barometer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Live Barometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Barometer holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Barometer has 70 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Live Barometer's written reviews are positive against 35% of Barometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Live Barometer ships an update fortnightly, Barometer every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
