# MileagePlus X vs Destination Defender

The clearest difference is update cadence: Destination Defender at every 2 days against MileagePlus X's monthly. Destination Defender also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and device support (3 vs 1). MileagePlus X's advantage is ratings volume (21K vs 2) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Destination Defender holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MileagePlus X has 21K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

MileagePlus X ships an update monthly, Destination Defender every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
