# WriteOn vs MP4 Maker

The clearest difference is price: MP4 Maker at Free against WriteOn's $4.99. MP4 Maker also leads on rating (4.6 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 3). WriteOn's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (50% vs 26%). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

MP4 Maker is free to download; WriteOn costs $4.99 up front. MP4 Maker sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. WriteOn asks for nothing beyond the download.

MP4 Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MP4 Maker has 2.4K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of WriteOn's written reviews are positive against 26% of MP4 Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WriteOn ships an update monthly, MP4 Maker weekly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
