# Word Keeper vs Progrex

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Progrex at none against Word Keeper's 8. Progrex also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). Word Keeper's advantage is ratings volume (501 vs 4). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Keeper sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Progrex asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Word Keeper against 4.5 for Progrex. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Keeper has 501 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Word Keeper ships an update fortnightly, Progrex every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
