# Userbrain Recorder vs Fancy Hands

The clearest difference is rating: Fancy Hands at 3.3 against Userbrain Recorder's 1.3. Fancy Hands also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 3) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.1). Userbrain Recorder's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 15 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Fancy Hands holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 1.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fancy Hands has 16 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Userbrain Recorder's written reviews are positive against 19% of Fancy Hands's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Userbrain Recorder ships an update every 3 weeks, Fancy Hands every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
