# V vs SpeedTest

The clearest difference is ads: V at none against SpeedTest's shown. V also leads on review sentiment (92% vs 73%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). SpeedTest's advantage is ratings volume (6.4K vs 1.2K) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for V against 4.6 for SpeedTest. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SpeedTest has 6.4K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 92% of V's written reviews are positive against 73% of SpeedTest's.

V ships an update every 8 months, SpeedTest every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
