# V vs Speed Test

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: V at none against Speed Test's 1. V also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (1.3K vs 25). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Test sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. V asks for nothing beyond the download.

V holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: V has 1.3K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 92% of V's written reviews are positive against 100% of Speed Test's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

V ships an update every 8 months, Speed Test every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
