# V vs Speed Test

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: V at none against Speed Test's 1. V also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 6). Speed Test's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Test sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. V asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for V against 4.8 for Speed Test. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: V has 1.2K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two.

V ships an update every 8 months, Speed Test every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
