# Animatoon vs Pulse

The clearest difference is rating: Animatoon at 3.1 against Pulse's 2.5. Animatoon also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 115 months) and ratings volume (408 vs 39). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Animatoon sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Pulse sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Animatoon holds the better App Store score, 3.1 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Animatoon has 408 ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Animatoon's written reviews are positive against 47% of Pulse's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Animatoon ships an update every 2 months, Pulse every 115 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
