# Animatoon vs RAR Opener

The clearest difference is rating: RAR Opener at 4.8 against Animatoon's 3.1. Animatoon's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Animatoon sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and RAR Opener sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

RAR Opener holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Animatoon has 407 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Animatoon ships an update every 2 months, RAR Opener every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
