# Private File vs Private Vault

The clearest difference is device support: Private File at 3 against Private Vault's 1. Private File also leads on iOS requirement (7.0 vs 16.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Private File sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Private Vault sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
