# Monster Math vs Mathara

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mathara at none against Monster Math's 7. Mathara also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). Monster Math's advantage is ratings volume (35K vs 2) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Monster Math sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Mathara asks for nothing beyond the download.

Mathara holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Monster Math has 35K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
