# Time Button vs Rap Star

The clearest difference is rating: Rap Star at 4.8 against Time Button's 1.0. Rap Star also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Time Button's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 65%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Time Button sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Rap Star sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Rap Star holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rap Star has 49K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Time Button's written reviews are positive against 65% of Rap Star's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Time Button ships an update every 5 months, Rap Star fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
