# ImageDrain vs Screen Memo

The clearest difference is rating: Screen Memo at 5.0 against ImageDrain's 3.8. Screen Memo also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). ImageDrain's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (69 vs 4). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Screen Memo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. ImageDrain asks for nothing beyond the download.

Screen Memo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ImageDrain has 69 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of ImageDrain's written reviews are positive against 33% of Screen Memo's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ImageDrain ships an update every 2 months, Screen Memo fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
