# Handwriting Memorandum vs Memoz!

The clearest difference is rating: Handwriting Memorandum at 5.0 against Memoz!'s 4.5. Memoz!'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (99 vs 1). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Handwriting Memorandum holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Memoz! has 99 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Handwriting Memorandum's written reviews are positive against 93% of Memoz!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Handwriting Memorandum ships an update every 12 months, Memoz! every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
