# Multi vs Simple Stop Watch Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simple Stop Watch Timer at free with in-app purchases against Multi's subscription. Simple Stop Watch Timer also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 64%) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). Multi's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (624 vs 26). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Multi sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Simple Stop Watch Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Stop Watch Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Multi has 624 ratings behind it against 26, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Multi's written reviews are positive against 100% of Simple Stop Watch Timer's.

Multi ships an update every 2 weeks, Simple Stop Watch Timer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
