# Password Manager vs Passbook

The clearest difference is rating: Password Manager at 4.6 against Passbook's 2.8. Password Manager also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 19 months) and ratings volume (754 vs 4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Password Manager sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Passbook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Password Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Password Manager has 754 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Password Manager ships an update every 2 months, Passbook every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
