# ALPACA vs Lock Screen Calendar

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ALPACA at none against Lock Screen Calendar's 7. ALPACA also leads on ratings volume (979 vs 19) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.0). Lock Screen Calendar's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lock Screen Calendar sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month. ALPACA asks for nothing beyond the download.

Lock Screen Calendar holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ALPACA has 979 ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of ALPACA's written reviews are positive against 88% of Lock Screen Calendar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ALPACA ships an update every 5 weeks, Lock Screen Calendar every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
