# JioHotstar vs ETV Win

The clearest difference is rating: JioHotstar at 4.6 against ETV Win's 2.1. JioHotstar also leads on ratings volume (102K vs 322) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). ETV Win's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JioHotstar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 3 months and ETV Win sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JioHotstar holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JioHotstar has 102K ratings behind it against 322, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of JioHotstar's written reviews are positive against 19% of ETV Win's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

JioHotstar ships an update fortnightly, ETV Win every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
