# JioHotstar vs SkillBox

The clearest difference is review sentiment: SkillBox at 73% against JioHotstar's 16%. SkillBox also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ads (none vs shown). JioHotstar's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 2.7) and ratings volume (102K vs 3). On price and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JioHotstar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 3 months. SkillBox asks for nothing beyond the download.

JioHotstar holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JioHotstar has 102K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 16% of JioHotstar's written reviews are positive against 73% of SkillBox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

JioHotstar ships an update fortnightly, SkillBox every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
