# JioHotstar vs Video Status Maker Pro

The clearest difference is ads: Video Status Maker Pro at none against JioHotstar's shown. Video Status Maker Pro also leads on review sentiment (45% vs 15%). JioHotstar's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 15 months) and ratings volume (102K vs 120). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JioHotstar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 3 months and Video Status Maker Pro sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for JioHotstar against 4.5 for Video Status Maker Pro. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JioHotstar has 102K ratings behind it against 120, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 15% of JioHotstar's written reviews are positive against 45% of Video Status Maker Pro's.

JioHotstar ships an update fortnightly, Video Status Maker Pro every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
