# JioHotstar vs Durlabh Darshan

JioHotstar and Durlabh Darshan both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 92% of Durlabh Darshan's written reviews are positive against 15% of JioHotstar's. Durlabh Darshan also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). JioHotstar's advantage is ratings volume (102K vs 7) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JioHotstar sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 3 months and Durlabh Darshan sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JioHotstar holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: JioHotstar has 102K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of JioHotstar's written reviews are positive against 92% of Durlabh Darshan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

JioHotstar ships an update fortnightly, Durlabh Darshan every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
