# Purchasing Power vs AKIRA

Purchasing Power and AKIRA both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 47% of AKIRA's written reviews are positive against 21% of Purchasing Power's. AKIRA also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Purchasing Power's advantage is ratings volume (32K vs 2K) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Purchasing Power against 4.8 for AKIRA. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Purchasing Power has 32K ratings behind it against 2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 21% of Purchasing Power's written reviews are positive against 47% of AKIRA's.

Purchasing Power ships an update every 2 months, AKIRA every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 5, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
