# KMetrix vs VDOT Running Calculator

The clearest difference is rating: VDOT Running Calculator at 4.9 against KMetrix's 4.0. VDOT Running Calculator also leads on ratings volume (1.6K vs 1). KMetrix's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VDOT Running Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. KMetrix asks for nothing beyond the download.

VDOT Running Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VDOT Running Calculator has 1.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of KMetrix's written reviews are positive against 74% of VDOT Running Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KMetrix ships an update monthly, VDOT Running Calculator every 4 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
