# Five Elements Chess vs FleetFold

The clearest difference is rating: Five Elements Chess at 4.8 against FleetFold's 3.0. Five Elements Chess also leads on ratings volume (103 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.0). FleetFold's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 82%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Five Elements Chess sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and FleetFold sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Five Elements Chess holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Five Elements Chess has 103 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Five Elements Chess's written reviews are positive against 100% of FleetFold's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Five Elements Chess ships an update weekly, FleetFold every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
