# Aexels vs variant

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Aexels at 100% against variant's 67%. variant's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 14.2). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

variant holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 6 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Aexels's written reviews are positive against 67% of variant's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Aexels ships an update every 10 days, variant weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
