# swimsync vs USA Swimming

The clearest difference is review sentiment: swimsync at 61% against USA Swimming's 14%. swimsync also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.1). USA Swimming's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 3.0) and in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. swimsync sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. USA Swimming asks for nothing beyond the download.

USA Swimming holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: USA Swimming has 27 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of swimsync's written reviews are positive against 14% of USA Swimming's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

swimsync ships an update every 5 weeks, USA Swimming every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
