# Looper vs Boomerang

The clearest difference is monetization model: Looper at free with in-app purchases against Boomerang's subscription. Looper also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). Boomerang's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and review sentiment (51% vs 42%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Looper sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.19 per month and Boomerang sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Boomerang holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4.9K and 3.9K respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of Looper's written reviews are positive against 51% of Boomerang's.

Looper ships an update every 2 weeks, Boomerang every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
