# iGate vs NordLocker

The clearest difference is rating: NordLocker at 3.5 against iGate's 1.8. NordLocker also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 3 months). iGate's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (22% vs 10%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NordLocker holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 1.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 29 and 11 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of iGate's written reviews are positive against 10% of NordLocker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iGate ships an update every 3 months, NordLocker every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 16, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
