# Rainbow Seeker vs Speedometer Simple

The clearest difference is rating: Speedometer Simple at 4.7 against Rainbow Seeker's 4.1. Speedometer Simple also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 30 months) and ratings volume (129K vs 8). Rainbow Seeker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 5) and ads (none vs shown). Speedometer Simple holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer Simple has 129K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Rainbow Seeker's written reviews are positive against 58% of Speedometer Simple's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
