# BeeLine Reader vs Motion

The clearest difference is price: Motion at Free against BeeLine Reader's $4.99. Motion also leads on rating (4.1 vs 2.3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 months). BeeLine Reader's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and device support (3 vs 1). On review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Motion is free to download; BeeLine Reader costs $4.99 up front. BeeLine Reader sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and Motion sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $44.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Motion holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Motion has 1.9K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 38% of BeeLine Reader's written reviews are positive against 42% of Motion's.

BeeLine Reader ships an update every 5 months, Motion weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
