# WriteIdeas vs Music Player

The clearest difference is rating: Music Player at 4.6 against WriteIdeas's 3.7. Music Player also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 20 months) and ratings volume (2.1K vs 3). WriteIdeas's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 70%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WriteIdeas sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Music Player sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Music Player holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Music Player has 2.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of WriteIdeas's written reviews are positive against 70% of Music Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WriteIdeas ships an update every 20 months, Music Player monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
