# Stryd vs Self share

The clearest difference is rating: Stryd at 4.0 against Self share's 3.0. Stryd also leads on ratings volume (240 vs 2) and device support (4 vs 2). Self share's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Stryd sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per month and Self share sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stryd holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stryd has 240 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Stryd ships an update every 3 days, Self share every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
