# Ritual vs Second Cup Café

The clearest difference is monetization model: Second Cup Café at free against Ritual's free with in-app purchases. Second Cup Café also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). Ritual's advantage is ratings volume (22K vs 28) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Ritual holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ritual has 22K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of Ritual's written reviews are positive against 36% of Second Cup Café's.

Ritual ships an update every 5 weeks, Second Cup Café every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
