# Days vs Countdown Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Days at free with in-app purchases against Countdown Timer's subscription. Days also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (12K vs 371). Countdown Timer's advantage is device support (5 vs 2) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Days sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Countdown Timer sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Days holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Days has 12K ratings behind it against 371, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Days's written reviews are positive against 76% of Countdown Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Days ships an update every 5 days, Countdown Timer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 8, 2026 respectively.
