# Speedometer Simple vs Speedometer

The clearest difference is ads: Speedometer at none against Speedometer Simple's shown. Speedometer also leads on review sentiment (73% vs 59%). Speedometer Simple's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (131K vs 2.2K). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speedometer Simple sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Speedometer sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Speedometer Simple against 4.7 for Speedometer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer Simple has 131K ratings behind it against 2.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 59% of Speedometer Simple's written reviews are positive against 73% of Speedometer's.

Speedometer Simple ships an update fortnightly, Speedometer every 6 months. Both last shipped on October 20, 2026.
