# Drops vs Hilokal

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Drops at 75% against Hilokal's 44%. Drops also leads on ratings volume (72K vs 772) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). Hilokal's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drops sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Hilokal sells 26 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Drops holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drops has 72K ratings behind it against 772, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 75% of Drops's written reviews are positive against 44% of Hilokal's.

Drops ships an update every 8 days, Hilokal every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
