# Drops vs Learn Dutch

The clearest difference is update cadence: Drops at every 8 days against Learn Dutch's every 4 months. Drops also leads on ratings volume (72K vs 32) and review sentiment (75% vs 50%). Learn Dutch's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drops sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Learn Dutch sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Drops against 4.6 for Learn Dutch. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drops has 72K ratings behind it against 32, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 75% of Drops's written reviews are positive against 50% of Learn Dutch's.

Drops ships an update every 8 days, Learn Dutch every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
