# Desktop Browser vs Bluefy

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bluefy at none against Desktop Browser's 6. Bluefy also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.4). Desktop Browser's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (16K vs 1.3K). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Desktop Browser sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days. Bluefy asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bluefy holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desktop Browser has 16K ratings behind it against 1.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Desktop Browser's written reviews are positive against 41% of Bluefy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Desktop Browser ships an update fortnightly, Bluefy every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
