# Desktop Browser vs Desktop Browser Plus

The clearest difference is ads: Desktop Browser Plus at none against Desktop Browser's shown. Desktop Browser Plus also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Desktop Browser's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (16K vs 11). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Desktop Browser sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per 7 days and Desktop Browser Plus sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Desktop Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desktop Browser has 16K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 52% of Desktop Browser's written reviews are positive against 60% of Desktop Browser Plus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Desktop Browser ships an update fortnightly, Desktop Browser Plus weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
