# Split Web Browser vs Pure Web Browser

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Split Web Browser at none against Pure Web Browser's 1. Split Web Browser also leads on ratings volume (757 vs 62). Pure Web Browser's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 23 months) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 12.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pure Web Browser sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Split Web Browser asks for nothing beyond the download.

Split Web Browser holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Split Web Browser has 757 ratings behind it against 62, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Split Web Browser's written reviews are positive against 76% of Pure Web Browser's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Split Web Browser ships an update every 23 months, Pure Web Browser every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
