# BRAIN vs Mental Age Test

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BRAIN at none against Mental Age Test's 3. BRAIN also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.2). Mental Age Test's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 27 months) and ratings volume (3K vs 3). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mental Age Test sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. BRAIN asks for nothing beyond the download.

BRAIN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mental Age Test has 3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of BRAIN's written reviews are positive against 34% of Mental Age Test's.

BRAIN ships an update every 27 months, Mental Age Test every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
