# Cool Wallpapers vs Live Wallpaper Maker

Cool Wallpapers and Live Wallpaper Maker both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 71% of Cool Wallpapers's written reviews are positive against 18% of Live Wallpaper Maker's. Cool Wallpapers also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 12.0). Live Wallpaper Maker's advantage is ratings volume (24K vs 196) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cool Wallpapers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Live Wallpaper Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Cool Wallpapers against 4.4 for Live Wallpaper Maker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Live Wallpaper Maker has 24K ratings behind it against 196, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 71% of Cool Wallpapers's written reviews are positive against 18% of Live Wallpaper Maker's.

Cool Wallpapers ships an update monthly, Live Wallpaper Maker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
