# Hover vs Hydrawise

The clearest difference is ads: Hydrawise at none against Hover's shown. Hydrawise also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (65K vs 3.1K). Hover's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hydrawise holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hydrawise has 65K ratings behind it against 3.1K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Hover's written reviews are positive against 39% of Hydrawise's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hover ships an update every 8 days, Hydrawise every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
