# Hover vs CareToady

The clearest difference is rating: CareToady at 5.0 against Hover's 4.4. Hover's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 months). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CareToady sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per year. Hover asks for nothing beyond the download.

CareToady holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hover has 3.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
