# Origami Live vs AppController

The clearest difference is update cadence: Origami Live at fortnightly against AppController's every 6 months. Origami Live also leads on ratings volume (59 vs 3). AppController's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 3.5) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AppController holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Origami Live has 59 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Origami Live ships an update fortnightly, AppController every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
