# BaseSpace vs Microsoft SharePoint

The clearest difference is rating: Microsoft SharePoint at 4.6 against BaseSpace's 2.7. Microsoft SharePoint also leads on ratings volume (142K vs 12) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). BaseSpace's advantage is iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Microsoft SharePoint holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Microsoft SharePoint has 142K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 25% and 25% positive.

BaseSpace ships an update every 2 months, Microsoft SharePoint every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 8, 2026 respectively.
