# Just Write vs Write A Book

The clearest difference is rating: Write A Book at 5.0 against Just Write's 4.3. Write A Book also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 11 days). Just Write's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Just Write sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Write A Book sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Write A Book holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Just Write has 1.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Just Write ships an update every 11 days, Write A Book every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
