# Getaways vs SmarTrip

The clearest difference is update cadence: Getaways at fortnightly against SmarTrip's every 5 weeks. SmarTrip's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Getaways ships an update fortnightly, SmarTrip every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
